Goji ’New Big’ Lycium barbarum ’New Big’
Goji ’New Big’ (Lycium barbarum ’New Big’)
Also known as Chinese Wolfberry, Vitamin Berry or Big Lifeberry. Is a native to southeastern Europe and Asia.
This variety produces larger and tastier berries than plants raised by seed. The shrub reaches 2.5m height.
In the spring, these plants develop purple and white flowers that are followed by red berries in late summer.
The fructification starts 2-3 years after planting. The fruits should be then shaken off of the shrub.
For maximum fruit potential, grow berries in full sun and moist, well-drained soils.
Can be grown as part of a shrub collection, or due to its spreading nature, as part of a hedge or screen.
